The Welsh Street Food Awards are part of the biggest street food competition in the world. We’ve selected the best applicants in the region who will battle it out to become the Welsh champion.

All applicants have to come up with a special competition dish, all you have to do is come hungry and enjoy a weekend of feasting and food cooked with passion. Eat, Drink, Vote.. Simple!

The winners go on to compete at the British Street Food Awards grand final in London and then - potentially - go on to represent Wales at the European Street Food Awards grand final in Germany.

The best thing about the Welsh Street Food Awards is completely free entry, however you will have to book a ticket as capacity is strictly limited.

Children, Dogs and Grandparents are all welcome at the table, get ready to Feast!

The legendary maverick showman Chris Bullzini will perform his gravity defying high wire act walking somewhere between the ordinary and extraordinary.

Our signature dish is our home reared lamb burger, wild garlic sauce, slow roasted pulled lamb shoulder on a toasted challah bun. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve heard “best lamb burger I’ve ever had”.

The Beef Brisket bun is a 16-hour smoked Texas style beef brisket with burnt cheddar cheese, our in-house apple BBQ sauce and pickled red chillies in a toasted potato bun.

We’ve always been told Lola’s makes a mean margarita, all drinks use premium spirits and proper fresh ingredients.

Origin Pizza

We create a small batch, hand balled dough, that we then hand stretch. We use traditional methods to create a Naples style pizza with a thin base and fluffy, leopard spotted crusts.

Chicago's famous Italian beef sandwich. Thinly sliced braised Welsh beef topside in a rich gravy, packed into a bread roll with homemade giardiniera (a traditional Italian pickle) and grilled peppers.

The Lamb Taco- Lamb shoulder slow cooked in banana leaf, a marinate of oranges, spices and Mexican dried chilli blend with house made salsa verde, cucumber, radish and mint.

Llandeilo

The handsome market town of Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire fuses farming feet with country chic. Overlooking the majestic river Tywi and surrounded by lush green pastures. The town boasts a great selection of independent traders and quirky antique shops, it’s a great day out. Welsh Street Food Awards takes place in the carpark of the refurbished Market Hall building.

We are open:

Saturday 11:00 - 22:00

Sunday 11:00 - 20:00

HOW DO I GET THERE?

Llandeilo Market Hall - Yr Hen Farchnad, Llandeilo, Carmarthen Street, Llandeilo, SA19 6AP

We always encourage you to carshare if you can - this will not only help with traffic it’s also doing your bit for the planet!

IS IT EASY TO GET TO?

Yes, the old market car park is within walking distance of the town carpaks

DO YOU HAVE PARKING?

We don’t have parking on the site and recommend parking at any of the council car parks, the event location is within 5 mins walking distance from these

IS IT DOG FRIENDLY?

Dogs are welcome on all sessions but, at a limited capacity. It is essential to book a free dog pass online and adhere to the following requirements.

Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times
Not everyone likes dogs so only well behaved dogs welcome
Bring your poop bags and make sure it’s binned
If your dog(s) behaviour is unruly or dangerous to other dogs or customers you may be asked to leave at the discretion of the events team.
We reserve the right to turn dogs away at any time if we believe they are at risk of causing stress, anxiety or danger to themselves, other dogs orpeople on the day.

IT’S RAINING WILL THE EVENT STILL BE RUNNING?

We open come rain or shine. We are an outdoor venue so we strongly advise dressing appropriately for the weather. “There's no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothing.”

DO YOU HAVE A TIME LIMIT ON RESERVATIONS?

We run our event in sessions. Your session time will correlate to the time on the ticket. If you want to stay longer you can purchase multiple sessions or even let us know on the day that you need more time and we can try to fit you into the next session.

CAN YOU GET A TICKET ON THE DOOR?

It is strongly advised that you buy your ticket in advance as most of our sessions run at full capacity. However, we do take walk-ins and always do our best to squeeze you if we can. We cannot guarantee entry if you haven't pre bought a ticket.

DO YOU GIVE TICKET REFUNDS?

We do not offer refunds or exchanges on tickets.

WE’RE GOING TO BE LATE - WHAT SHALL WE DO?

It happens to us all, don't worry! As long as you arrive within your session time you will be allowed onsite.

DO YOU ACCEPT CASH ?

We are a cashless event and we advise that you bring a card as well as a phone just in case you run out of battery. The traders are contracted not to take cash so we ask that you respect the events terms and conditions and be ready with your card.

HOW DO WE ORDER FOOD AND DRINK?

Food and drink is ordered directly from the trader.

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME?

We are a family friendly event and children are very welcome to all sessions. Children must be accompanied by an adult supervised at all times.

IS THE EVENT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

Yes the event is wheelchair accessible
